Add Local User accounts

Note: This can only be done by Administrators.

If you are not using LDAP or OIDC user authentication, administrators can manually add local users to Simscope.

Process

1. In the top bar, click Admin Lock → User Accounts.

2. On the right side, click Add Local User.

3. Enter the user's account information

Fill out the Login, Name, and Email fields.

Then click Save.

Default password

The default password for manually created user accounts is a blank password.

To change their password:

• Click the "Change Password" link at the bottom of any page.
• Leave the current password field blank
• Type in a new password
• Click "Change Password" button

Forgotten password

If a user forgets their password, the administrator can reset the password, by issuing a reset token and then typing in a new password.

• Click the "Issue user reset token" link

In the above example, the reset token is 66302
